About Us

Who is our Pastor?

The Reverend Dave Svenson, whose parents were Salvation Army Officers (Pastors) was born in New York City.  Because Salvation Army officers move as often as United Methodist pastors, he grew up in Brooklyn, NY, Jamestown, NY, Providence, RI, and Manhattan, NY.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Dave married his wife, Linda, in 1963. They have three children and six grandchildren and just celebrated their 55th anniversary.
Dave is a graduate of Bangor Theological Seminary and St. Anselm’s College.
Dave has pastored 6 churches and was district superintendent of the Mid-Maine District. This will be the 4th time Dave has come out of retirement to serve as an interim pastor.

Pastor Svenson can be contacted via email at: dlsvenson@comcast.net or via phone at: 603.325.8537

What do we believe as Methodists?

We use both the Old Testament and New Testament as the foundation for our faith and the inspiration for our daily lives. We put those teachings into practice at home and at work.

At North Salem UMC, it's our mission to help you explore your relationship with God and improve those meaningful relationships in your family life. Join us each Sunday and experience the warmth of faith and the strength of our community and our Lord Jesus Christ.
