The Rev. Dr. James (Jim) G. Mentzer
After eight years as president of the United Methodist Foundation of New England, I am delighted to be serving North Salem UMC. I’m a native of Bolton, MA and have earned a B.A. in history from Allegheny College, an M.A. in history from Duke University, a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. Truth be told, becoming a minister was not my original career goal. Since history is my first love, I had always envisioned myself a college professor. Life did not work out that way however. Prior to entering ordained ministry, I worked for more than two decades in both the public and private sectors – including twelve years as a financial planner. Today I am an ordained elder in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church with twenty-five years of ministry experience. I’m married to the Rev. Lynne Campbell Mentzer and have six adult children and six grandchildren. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time at (cell) 910-214-2914 or (e-mail) firstname.lastname@example.org.
We use both the Old Testament and New Testament as the foundation for our faith and the inspiration for our daily lives. We put those teachings into practice at home and at work.
At North Salem UMC, it's our mission to help you explore your relationship with God and improve those meaningful relationships in your family life. Join us each Sunday and experience the warmth of faith and the strength of our community and our Lord Jesus Christ.
